iPhones to Have Personal Hotspots

Smartphone makers are doing their best to keep up with the needs of their customers and to be one step ahead of competitors. One move in this direction is the development of personal hotspots. This is bringing technology to the cutting edge and providing greater convenience to Smartphone users and other users of mobile technology.

What is a Personal Hotspot?

This enables the sharing of Internet connectivity from a Smartphone. This feature will basically turn the phone into a hub for a maximum of five wireless devices. Being able to connect to the Internet through your mobile device is great, especially for a small group of friends who may want connectivity in an area where wireless is not available.

Verizon reported that the iPhone iOS4.3 will come equipped with a personal hotspot. This is great news for iPhone users and other technology junkies.

Some Points to Know

While this is wonderful, it has one drawback and that is the fact that there may well be a data charge. The cost of this fantastic new feature is not yet known. At this point it is a matter of speculation, as some sources believe data usage will be bundled to incorporate the personal hotspot. Another belief is that there will be a separate charge for the personal hotspot.

When it is being used, some iPhone features may be impacted. Some will slow down or maybe not be accessible at all. Of course, Apple will no doubt be working to refining this feature so that subsequent releases will be better.

Whatever the cost structure used, many iPhone users will be lining up to access this feature. It will also be just a matter of time until personal hotspots on smart devices become the norm rather than the exception.
