Whether you are using a 3G connection or are in search of a Wi-Fi hotspot, you need to be able to get connected. It is not because you want to, but almost out of a need anymore. We need to be able to get in touch and have communication with everyone all of the time. This is becoming even more important in our careers. Our people need to be able to get a hold of us whenever it is necessary. If they cannot get a hold of us we feel as though there is something wrong. This is why it is so important to have the right tools and the right computer to be able to get connected quickly and efficiently.
Being able to get connected is one thing, being able to get connected quickly is another. If you are able to get online and communicate you may be able to function. However, if the connection you have is slow and does not provide you with the ability to do everything you need to do, then you will get frustrated and overwhelmed. This is why you need to make sure you know what kind of a connection you will have before you get somewhere as opposed to relying on the fact that it says it has Wi-Fi so it must be good.
So before you go anywhere check your computer and laptop to make sure you have all of your software up to date and that your wireless card is working properly. You do not want to have anything wrong on your end before you go and start blaming others for a bad connection. It is up to you to get the best connection.
